Herm Sprenger - KK Ultra 2-Type Double Jointed Sensogan Snaffle 16mm

The Herm Sprenger KK Ultra 2-Type Bit combines the advantages of a loose ring snaffle with the lateral pressure of an eggbutt. Due to the eggbutt shape the bit is gentle on the corners of the mouth while the anatomically formed mouthpiece lies perfectly in the mouth ensuring extremely gentle pressure and precise rein aids. Additionally, the 2-Type KK Ultra maintains the lightness of a loose ring snaffle.

Compared to conventional bits, the double jointed KK Ultra mouthpiece has a shortened center link (bean) that is angled forward by 45 degrees. This allows the middle link to lie gently on the horse's tongue resulting in even and constant contact.

Sensogan is the newest metal in the Herm Sprenger collection. An improvement on Sprenger's original Aurigan metal, Sensogan promotes salivation and subsequent softening of the jaw with a reduced copper content to slow oxidation and the addition of Manganese, a trace mineral that promotes muscle relaxation. Sensogan bits are marked with a black ring at the cheeks.

  Sensogan is the new bit material developed by Sprenger. It is the result of additional developement and consequently the improvement of the original Aurigan bit material. Sensogan builds on the positive aspects of Aurigan, specifically the taste and salivation aspects, to give an even more delicate and sophisticated connection to the horse. It is the distinctive composition of copper, manganese and zinc that makes sensogan so special. With a reduced copper content the oxidation process is still maintained, however, the extraordinary combination with manganese is what makes the difference. This combination results in a smoother and more regulated process of oxidation. Tests show a very positive influence on the horse's satisfaction, motivation and willingness to perform. The copper discharge quantity into the horse's saliva is reduced considerably, which helps to keep the noble white-gold color for a longer time. The new ingredient manganese is an important micronutrient. As a crucial component and activator of connective tissue as well as for the muscle and energy metabolism, it can be helpful in preventing muscle tension and in supporting stress reduction. Beyond that, manganese is needed for the reduction of histamine and can prevent allergic skin reactions.
